Title : Planning Surgery in COVID-19 Era - A Challenge[Paper-1(Short Review)]
Authors : Ripudamanjit Kaur and Gurudutt Bhaskar Basrur
Abstract :
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) the new pandemic, caused by the highly contagious single stranded mRNA virus with an incubation period of up to 14 days. It spreads by respiratory secretions, runs a mild course in 80% of patients, while 14% needing hospitalization and oxygen therapy, and 5% needing intensive care/ ventilatory management. India witnessed an outbreak of the coronavirus, in late January 2020 when three Indian students travelled to the southern state of Kerala from Wuhan in China - the epicenter of the outbreak. All three tested positive for COVID-19, confirming a local contagion. At the same time, several other cases were detected in other parts of the country, most of which were linked to people with a travel history to affected countries. Infections increased rapidly since March, with a significant growth in testing.

Title : Phenomenology and Functional Impact of Dhat Syndrome: A Case Report [Paper-2(Case Report)]
Authors : Harmandeep Kaur, S.G. Mehta, Bhakti Murkey, Versha Deepankar, Sangamjyot Kaur
Abstract :
Dhat syndrome is culturally mediated condition related to semen loss and found commonly in natives of South Asian countries. The patient goes through extreme degree of tiredness, anxiety, clinical depression leading to fertility issues. All these symptoms are attributed to the contemporary myths in the society pertaining to semen loss. This is to report the case of a young male who initially suffered from repetitive semen loss in night-falls and via masturbation, causing extreme guilt and physical health symptoms which further aggravated into chronic depressive symptoms. Lack of insight, poor knowledge of sexual health and practices and inadequate treatment adherence added to the worsening of psychopathology and precipitated obsessions and suicidal attempts in the patient. This discussion aims to explore the dynamics between socio-cultural aspects, personality, education and attitude towards psychological treatments in the community while treating Dhat Syndrome, and its resultant impact on the patient’s occupational, social and emotional well-being.

Title : A Case of Giant Fibrolipoma of Nape of Neck [Paper-3(Case Report)]
Authors : Gurudutt Basrur, Navdeep Singh Osahan, A.K. Vyas, Dhawal Sharma
Abstract :
Lipoma is a benign mesenchymal tumour with a thirteen percent incidence in head and neck region. Posterior triangle is the most common location while anterior neck lipoma is a rare one. Giant lipomas of the neck can present as a cosmetic disfigurement or can produce pressure symptoms. Most lipomas do not pose any difficulty in diagnosis. Surgical excision remains the treatment of choice. We here present a case of giant fibro lipoma of nape of neck.

Title : Median Canalicular Dystrophy of Heller: A Rare Presentation[Paper-4(Case Report)]
Authors : Prachi Agrawal, N. Sarat Anandh, Ankita Saharan
Abstract :
Median Canaliform Dystrophy is a rare nail disorder characterized by midline longitudinal ridging or splitting with canal formation in the nail plate of one or both the nails of the thumbs. It is an acquired condition that mimics habit-tic deformity, resulting in a temporary defect in the nail matrix and cuticle. Treatment is often prolonged and unsatisfactory, which many a times is challenging for a dermatologist. Some clinicians have used topical tacrolimus (0.1%) ointment and tazarotene (0.05%) ointment successfully.

Title : Fortuitous Results with Hydroxyzine in Autistic Child: A Case Report [Paper-5(Case Report)]
Authors : Versha Deepankar, S.G. Mehta, Bhakti Murkey, Harmandeep Kaur, Sangamjyot Kaur
Abstract :
Autism is a neuro-developmental disorder characterized by impairment in communication, social interaction and with restricted and repetitive behaviour. Autism spectrum disorder is frequently associated with, attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and also other symptoms that become the primary focus of psychiatric treatment, such as aggression, anxiety, irritability or self-injury. These complaints often subside on pharmacotherapy with low dose antipsychotics. In this report we describe accidental benefit of Hydroxyzine in the treatment of hyperactivity in a 4 year old autistic boy. This child had presented with severe and persistent irritability and hyperactivity, which apparently worsened on use of titrated Atomoxetine doses. He was later initiated on a trial of Risperidone which demonstrated adequate response on the presenting behavioral complaints and clarified the diagnostic formulation of Autism with secondary hyperactivity, not primary ADHD.

Title : Cutaneous Manifestations in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: A Case Series [Paper-6(Case Report)]
Authors : Prachi Agrawal, Ronibala Kshetrimayum, Richa Kamboj
Abstract :
Lupus Erythematosus (LE) is an autoimmune disorder with diverse clinical manifestation ranging from mild cutaneous disorder to life-threatening systemic illness. In some patients, it remains to persist in the skin-limited form while in others it evolves into Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). Here comes the role of identifying the markers of systemic involvement, which could determine the course and prognosis of the disease. Hence, we report a case series of two female patients who first presented only with cutaneous manifestations. Skin lesions in patients with SLE are important disease manifestations and proper understanding is essential for diagnosis and efficient management.

Title : Understanding Physical Manifestations of Mental Health in General Practice: A Case Report[Paper-7(Case Report)]
Authors : Sangamjyot Kaur, S.G. Mehta, Bhakti Murkey, Versha Deepankar, Harmandeep Kaur, S. K. Sharma
Abstract :
Physical health complaints are often interpreted asmanifestations of physical illnesses, masking any potential mental health conditions in patients presenting to primary care settings. In such cases, general lack of awareness or watchfulness for comorbid emotional stress, affecting the overall health of the patient, makes the diagnosis and treatment of underlying anxiety, depression or somatoform disorders difficult and delayed. These symptoms are often labelled as medically unexplained physical symptoms (MUPS) which are offshoots of a mental health psychopathology. Our aim of discussing this case is to encourage early detection of mental health symptoms and probable aetiology for physical complaints in primary healthcare settings and promote early diagnosis and holistic management of the same.

Name : Pulmonary Fibrosis: The Dead End of COVID-19 - Short Review with a Case[Paper-10(Case Report)]
Authors : Urvansh Mehta, S.K. Verma, Jagdish Vishnoi, K.R. Sharma
Abstract :
COVID-19 still continues to spread over the world and new complications are emerging as a sequelae of the disease. Pulmonary Fibrosis is one such devastating complication following COVID-19 infection. Much more clinical research is required in identifying patients at the early stage who are at risk of developing pulmonary fibrosis as a result of COVID-19, and more trials are required for a potential treatment option. Co-morbid conditions, severe form of disease and prolonged ICU stay, mechanical ventilation are such risk factors trailing the disease to fibrosing stage. Early identification and effective treatment is required in such patients to prevent such morbid outcomes.

Title : Virophages –Future Therapeutic Hope for Viral Diseases [Paper-11(Future Therapy)]
Authors : S.K. Verma, Ritu Bhatnagar, Urvansh Mehta, Vartika Jain
Abstract :
Virophages are viruses parasitizing another virus for their survival. These are circular, double-stranded DNA viruses which have a wide range of habitats including human and animal gut, soil, air, bioreactors, sludge and aquatic environment. Till now, six virophages have been isolated and identified. Besides only four conserved genes, their genomes display a wide variability. They also help as biodiversity agent and nutrient cyclers in aquatic regimes. Virophages also induce evolutionary course of the virus they infect. Scientists have started working on the concept of removal of virus population with the help of virophages just as Bacteriophages do with bacteria. The present article explores the virophages in brief and discusses their potential role in future therapeutics for treatment of viral diseases.
