Indexing and Abstracting

Overview

Pacific Journal of Medical and Health Sciences is committed to ensuring the broadest possible dissemination of published research to the global scholarly community. The journal actively pursues inclusion in recognised international indexing databases, abstracting services and bibliographic repositories in order to maximise the visibility, accessibility and impact of the research it publishes.

The journal's ISSN has been registered with the International Centre for the Registration of Serial Publications (CIEPS/ISSN International Centre, Paris) and is a recognised identifier for the print edition of the journal. An application for an Electronic ISSN (E-ISSN) for the online edition is currently under consideration by the relevant authority.

Indexing and Abstracting Status

Pacific Journal of Medical and Health Sciences is currently in the process of applying for inclusion in major international indexing databases and abstracting services. The journal meets the core criteria of open access, peer review, regular publication and language quality required for consideration by these databases.

The following applications for indexing and abstracting are currently in progress or under review:

  • Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ): An application for inclusion has been submitted. The journal is actively addressing the DOAJ inclusion criteria and intends to reapply in due course upon full compliance with all requirements.
  • Electronic ISSN (E-ISSN): Application submitted to the ISSN International Centre for registration of the online edition.
  • Google Scholar: The journal's published content is being made available for indexing by Google Scholar through open access publication.

The editorial team is committed to meeting the criteria required for inclusion in additional major indexing databases including PubMed Central (PMC), Scopus, Web of Science and Index Copernicus. Readers and authors will be notified on this page as and when the journal is accepted for indexing in these and other databases.

Open Access and DOAJ

Pacific Journal of Medical and Health Sciences is a fully open-access journal. All published content is freely available online without charge to readers or their institutions, in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). The journal is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).

An application for inclusion in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) has been submitted. DOAJ is the most widely recognised international registry of quality-controlled open-access journals. Inclusion in DOAJ is a mark of the journal's adherence to the highest standards of open-access publishing, editorial transparency and publication ethics. The journal is actively working to meet all DOAJ inclusion criteria and anticipates reapplying in due course.

Digital Preservation and Archiving

Pacific Journal of Medical and Health Sciences is committed to the long-term digital preservation and archival accessibility of all published content. All issues of the journal are archived on the journal's official website at www.medicaladvances.ac.in and are freely accessible to readers worldwide.

The journal is exploring participation in recognised digital preservation programmes, including LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS), to ensure the permanent availability of its published content in the event of any disruption to the journal's primary online platform. Further information on the journal's archival arrangements will be provided on this page as these are established.

Digital Object Identifier (DOI)

The journal is in the process of registering with Crossref for the assignment of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to all published articles. DOIs provide a permanent, reliable and internationally recognised means of linking to and citing published content. Authors and readers will be notified on this page when DOI assignment becomes operational for the journal.
